The answer is, yes – sort of 🙂 The bottom line: it can’t hurt, it may help, definitely worth a try. Affirmations are something I have always promoted with my clients, and something I use myself. In the beginning, I’ll admit it does feel a little wacky saying things to yourself that you don’t yet believe, but you’ll get used to it.
By adding a visualization while you are saying your affirmation, you will add fuel to the fire. If you know you need to exercise more, try telling yourself, “I enjoy exercising most days of the week” while picturing yourself being active.
The added bonus of taking time out to say affirmations and visualize your goal is that it can bring you back to the present moment. And, when you think about it, the present moment is the only time we have the opportunity for change.
